Drill to Earth's Core Update Log — Every 2026 Update and Release Date

Every Drill to Earth's Core update in 2026: exact dates for each class, NPC and system release from the game's own unlock badges, plus September's drops.

FAQ

What was the latest Drill to Earth's Core update?
The Halloween event update. The game updated at 05:25 UTC on 17 October 2026, and the official event starts at 14:00 UTC the same day. The developers say it adds a new currency and a limited-time class you can earn. The class is most likely Jack-o'-Lantern, whose badge appeared on 16 October. Next up is Soul Prison, a Tier 5 dungeon, scheduled for 24 October.
When does Drill to Earth's Core update?
There is no fixed schedule, but the cadence is roughly every one to two weeks — September alone brought Prospector (3rd), Samurai (18th) and Mercenary (26th). This log is re-checked daily against the game's badge API, so it updates the day something ships.
How are the release dates in this log verified?
Every class, NPC and system unlock has its own badge in the game's data, and the badge creation date is the day that content was added. That is why this log carries exact dates where hand-updated wikis often say "as of launch".
What is the next Drill to Earth's Core update?
Soul Prison, scheduled for 24 October 2026 on the game's Roblox events feed. The developers call it their first Tier 5 dungeon, with procedurally generated dungeons. Beyond that, the pattern since March is a new class every one to two weeks, and the badge API shows staged content before it goes live — this log catches both: a new badge is the "coming soon" signal, and its first unlocks are the release.

What this log is

Drill to Earth’s Core ships content fast — a new class has landed roughly every one to two weeks since launch — and the in-game update notes are not published anywhere official. So this log is built from the one source that never lags: the game’s own badge list.

Every class, NPC, layer and system unlock has a badge, and the developers create the badge when the content is added. That makes the badge’s creation date the release date — the same method behind every class date on this site, and the reason this log has exact dates where the Fandom wiki’s update page still says “we are missing much info”. Treat a date as the ship day, give or take a day for timezones.

October 2026 (current season)

Three new classes so far, plus the first enemy badges since March, one new addition to the bestiary and the Halloween event.

Date What shipped Notes
1 Oct Engineer class badge created “Unlock the Engineer class”, the 28th class. It’s awarding unlocks, but slowly (524 by 17 October); price and kit not published yet. Engineer page
3 Oct First redeem code — GAMENAME (500 Cores) Source-dated rather than badge-dated (first listed by BloxRant on 3 October; video-verified 4 October). The game shipped no code system at all through September. Details on the codes page
6 Oct Blinker enemy + three “Defeat a …” badges Blinker, Fuel Leech and Watcher each got a defeat badge in one batch. Blinker is new (its wiki page dates to 5 October); Fuel Leech and Watcher had been in the game since August without a badge. Bestiary
7 Oct Vampire class badge created “Unlock the Vampire class”, the 29th class. Over 30,000 unlocks by 17 October. Creators call it a 3-diamond class; kit not published yet. Vampire page
10 Oct Game build refreshed The game’s events feed listed this slot as “Passive Rework!” (subtitle “Passive Overhaul!”). No patch notes, and no new badges dated to it.
16 Oct Jack-o’-Lantern class badge created “Unlock the Jack-o’-Lantern class”, the 30th class. Still zero unlocks at 05:36 UTC on 17 October. Jack-o’-Lantern page
17 Oct Halloween Event update Game updated 05:25 UTC and its name now ends in 🎃👻. The official event starts 14:00 UTC and promises “a new currency and a limited-time class you can earn”. The class isn’t named, but Jack-o’-Lantern is the only staged one. No new badges came with this build.
23 Oct Timekeeper class badge created “Unlock the Timekeeper class”, the 31st class. Zero unlocks on 24 October, so it’s staged. Price and kit not published yet. Timekeeper page
31 Oct Spider Queen class badge created “Unlock the Spider Queen class”, the 32nd class. Zero unlocks on 31 October, so it’s staged. Price and kit not published yet. Spider Queen page

Classes kept coming in October: Engineer, Vampire and now Jack-o’-Lantern, roughly one a week. Jack-o’-Lantern is the only one not playable yet, and the Halloween event is the likely way you’ll get it.

September 2026

The busiest month so far — three class drops plus the update that finally unlocked the Mercenary.

Date What shipped Notes
26 Sep Mercenary class + Lieutenant NPC go live Game updated 05:48 UTC; both badges began awarding within the hour. Mercenary page
25 Sep Lieutenant NPC badge created “Talk to the Lieutenant” — staged, no unlocks yet
23 Sep Mercenary class badge created The 27th class — staged in the game’s data for two and a half days
18 Sep Samurai class Tier 5, 30,000 Cores. Creator coverage of the same update documents Unranked mode and Death Crates. Samurai page
3 Sep Season 1: Prospector class + Simon the Shopkeeper Two badges created minutes apart — the class + NPC pairing that marks a new season. Prospector page

The September story in one line: content now gets staged before it ships. The Mercenary badge sat at zero unlocks for two and a half days, and the Lieutenant badge appeared the day before the update — both went live together on the 26th. The class + NPC pairing is familiar (Prospector and Shopkeeper were created 61 seconds apart on 3 September), but the gap between “in the game’s data” and “reachable in game” is new.

August 2026

Date What shipped Notes
28 Aug Salvager class + the Heart Layer Three badges the same day: Salvager, “Mine Heartgem” and “Heart of Earth” — a class plus a new deepest layer. Salvager page
19 Aug Witch class Tier 2, 3,000 Cores — the cheapest of the late-summer classes. Witch page
14 Aug Executioner class Tier 5. The wiki’s update log for this window also describes Bombo (an enemy that disables drill parts) and story quests — but it dates the Shopkeeper to this update too, while the Shopkeeper’s own badge is 3 September. We trust the badge. Executioner page
6 Aug Priest class Tier 5 support healer. Priest page

22 Jul Crafting system Five level badges (Crafting I–V) created in one batch — the biggest non-class system drop of the year.

5 Jun Racer class The speed specialist. Racer page

May 2026

Date What shipped Notes
29 May Goblin King class + Gibbles NPC A Tier 5 class and a town character in the same drop. Goblin King page
19 May Emerald ore Added to the mining ladder two months after launch.
12 May Reaper class Soul orbs and late-run sustain. Reaper page

April 2026

Date What shipped Notes
30 Apr Demolitionist class Explosive damage. Demolitionist page
27 Apr Postmaster NPC Town character — the mail system’s anchor.
22 Apr Excalibur A rare weapon tied to its own unlock badge.

March 2026 (launch month)

The game page itself dates to 25 February 2026, but the first player-facing badges land in March — the “Welcome” (join the game) badge on 13 March is the best launch marker. Launch month built the whole skeleton of the game in three weeks:

  • Eight launch classes — Miner, Scout, Tank, Gunslinger, Mechanic, Healer, Driller and Bruiser, with badges dated 13–14 March. Every one of them still costs 100–5,000 Cores.
  • The layer ladder — Grass and Dirt (23 March), then Stone, Clay, Fossil, Crystal and Toxic (20 March), then Radioactive, The Abyss and The Void (19 March), ending at Reach the Core.
  • The economy and gear loops — drill upgrades I–V (5 March), the armor tiers from Rusty to Void (9 March), ores from coal to ruby (9–10 March), wall damage (27 February–2 March).
  • The town NPCs — Blacksmith, Mage and Banker (11 March), Merchant (26 February), then Postmaster (27 April) and the rest of the roster through the year.

What’s next

One update is on the calendar. The game’s Roblox events feed lists Soul Prison 👻⛓️ for 24 October 2026 (14:00 UTC). The developers describe it as “our first Tier 5 dungeon, procedurally generated dungeons, and more”. That’s all they’ve said, so there are no loot or enemy details yet. The current dungeons are covered in structures and dungeons.

The developers don’t publish patch notes. Beyond the events feed, two things are worth watching, both from the badge API:

  1. A new badge appearing = content staged. That is how the Mercenary and Lieutenant both showed up before they were reachable.
  2. That badge’s first unlocks = the content went live. This log and the all classes page both update from the same daily check.

If you are planning a build around the next class, the class cadence is the thing to read first — a class you save for can be superseded in a fortnight.
