FAQ

How much does the Racer class cost in Drill to Earth's Core?
Racer costs 3,000 Cores (Tier 2 in the Academy). The four Tier 5 classes - Racer among them - sit at the top of the price ladder, so treat the unlock as a savings project rather than an impulse buy.
What does Racer start with?
Racer starts with Racer Armor. Starter gear alone does not decide a class - the four level passives below it do - but it does mean you can use the class the moment you buy it.
What is the Racer Level 3 passive?
When fuel is below 50%, gain 100% Drive Speed and Acceleration as the Driver. Level 3 is the last personal upgrade; Level 4 turns the class into a team asset.
What is the Racer team bonus?
Unlocks the Engine Overdrive III Upgrade. Level 4 is the team bonus - it applies to the whole 30-player server and gates on career total depth, not on anything you do in one run.

What Racer actually does

Racer is a Tier 2 Academy class at 3,000 Cores. Like every class in the game, it hands you starter gear (Racer Armor) and then scales through four levels - three personal upgrades and a team bonus at the end.

The Level 1 passive is the identity: +50% Drive Speed and Acceleration as the Driver. Everything after that builds on the same idea rather than switching lanes.

Level by level

Level Unlock What changes
1 3,000 Cores +50% Drive Speed and Acceleration as the Driver
2 Class level requirement Drive Speed, Power Drive, and Engine Overdrive cost 50% less
3 Class level requirement When fuel is below 50%, gain 100% Drive Speed and Acceleration as the Driver
4 Career total depth gate Unlocks the Engine Overdrive III Upgrade (team bonus)

Level 4 is the team bonus - it applies to the whole 30-player server and gates on career total depth, not on anything you do in one run.

Is Racer worth 3,000 Cores?

At Racer’s price the risk is low. This is an early unlock, so it competes with the other cheap classes for your first few thousand Cores rather than with the Tier 5 savings projects.

Where it fits in a team

The team bonus is what makes Racer show up in multiplayer lobbies: Unlocks the Engine Overdrive III Upgrade. In a 30-player server that is a bonus nobody has to spend their own Cores on, which is why team-first classes get picked even by players who main something else.

Driver speed matters most on long runs - the reach 100 km guide covers the route planning.

If you have not settled your first purchases yet, the all classes page has every Core price, and the best classes tier list explains where Racer lands against the rest of the roster.
