FAQ

How much does the Salvager class cost in Drill to Earth's Core?
Salvager costs 10,000 Cores (Tier 4 in the Academy). The four Tier 5 classes - Salvager among them - sit at the top of the price ladder, so treat the unlock as a savings project rather than an impulse buy.
What does Salvager start with?
Salvager starts with Salvager Armor Set. Starter gear alone does not decide a class - the four level passives below it do - but it does mean you can use the class the moment you buy it.
What is the Salvager Level 3 passive?
Scrap can be sold for 100% extra Coins. Level 3 is the last personal upgrade; Level 4 turns the class into a team asset.
What is the Salvager team bonus?
Enemies have a 5% chance to drop iron bars. Level 4 is the team bonus - it applies to the whole 30-player server and gates on career total depth, not on anything you do in one run.

What Salvager actually does

Salvager is a Tier 4 Academy class at 10,000 Cores. Like every class in the game, it hands you starter gear (Salvager Armor Set) and then scales through four levels - three personal upgrades and a team bonus at the end.

The Level 1 passive is the identity: Enemies have a 10% chance to drop iron bars. Everything after that builds on the same idea rather than switching lanes.

Level by level

Level Unlock What changes
1 10,000 Cores Enemies have a 10% chance to drop iron bars
2 Class level requirement Shredding Scrap grants 50% more Cogs
3 Class level requirement Scrap can be sold for 100% extra Coins
4 Career total depth gate Enemies have a 5% chance to drop iron bars (team bonus)

Level 4 is the team bonus - it applies to the whole 30-player server and gates on career total depth, not on anything you do in one run.

Is Salvager worth 10,000 Cores?

Salvager sits in the mid-tier band, which is usually the best value in the Academy: expensive enough to matter, cheap enough to reach without a dedicated grind. If its passive matches your bottleneck, it is a reasonable buy before any Tier 5.

Where it fits in a team

The team bonus is what makes Salvager show up in multiplayer lobbies: Enemies have a 5% chance to drop iron bars. In a 30-player server that is a bonus nobody has to spend their own Cores on, which is why team-first classes get picked even by players who main something else.

Scrap-to-Coins conversion stacks with the Core-earning routes in the get-cores guide.

If you have not settled your first purchases yet, the all classes page has every Core price, and the best classes tier list explains where Salvager lands against the rest of the roster.
