FAQ

How much does the Pirate class cost in Drill to Earth's Core?
Pirate costs 30,000 Cores (Tier 5 in the Academy). The four Tier 5 classes - Pirate among them - sit at the top of the price ladder, so treat the unlock as a savings project rather than an impulse buy.
What does Pirate start with?
Pirate starts with Pirate Armor Set. Starter gear alone does not decide a class - the four level passives below it do - but it does mean you can use the class the moment you buy it.
What is the Pirate Level 3 passive?
Unlocks a cannon that fires cannonballs at enemies. Level 3 is the last personal upgrade; Level 4 turns the class into a team asset.
What is the Pirate team bonus?
+5% Dig Site spawn chance in tunnels. Level 4 is the team bonus - it applies to the whole 30-player server and gates on career total depth, not on anything you do in one run.

What Pirate actually does

Pirate is a Tier 5 Academy class at 30,000 Cores. Like every class in the game, it hands you starter gear (Pirate Armor Set) and then scales through four levels - three personal upgrades and a team bonus at the end.

The Level 1 passive is the identity: Enemies have a 10% chance to drop Gold Bars. Everything after that builds on the same idea rather than switching lanes.

Level by level

Level Unlock What changes
1 30,000 Cores Enemies have a 10% chance to drop Gold Bars
2 Class level requirement Gold items sell for +100% Coins
3 Class level requirement Unlocks a cannon that fires cannonballs at enemies
4 Career total depth gate +5% Dig Site spawn chance in tunnels (team bonus)

Level 4 is the team bonus - it applies to the whole 30-player server and gates on career total depth, not on anything you do in one run.

Is Pirate worth 30,000 Cores?

At Pirate’s price point the question is never whether the class works - it is whether it fixes a problem you actually have. Tier 5 unlocks cost more than everything below them combined, so buy one when your runs are failing for the specific reason this class solves.

Where it fits in a team

The team bonus is what makes Pirate show up in multiplayer lobbies: +5% Dig Site spawn chance in tunnels. In a 30-player server that is a bonus nobody has to spend their own Cores on, which is why team-first classes get picked even by players who main something else.

Gold bar values sit alongside the ore table in the ores and bars page.

If you have not settled your first purchases yet, the all classes page has every Core price, and the best classes tier list explains where Pirate lands against the rest of the roster.
