FAQ

What is the best class in Drill to Earth's Core?
Driller is the safest pick for most players. Its drill power bonus and cheaper drill upgrades attack the single biggest failure point — not breaking the boss wall before fuel or time runs out. Lucky Looter is the best economy class, and Pirate is the best late-game wallet.
What is the worst class in Drill to Earth's Core?
Bounty Hunter is the weakest class in the current build. Its Level 1 bonus doubles bounty sell prices, but the only guaranteed place to sell a bounty is at 43,000 m, so the bonus often pays nothing at all.
Is Reaper a good class in Drill to Earth's Core?
Yes. Reaper is one of the strongest sustain picks because enemies have a 20% chance to drop soul orbs that heal 25 HP, and the Level 2 Soul Lantern damages nearby enemies. It scales in long descents instead of capping out.
Should I buy classes with Cores or Robux?
Cores. Every class is an Academy purchase priced in Cores, and Cores come from achievements, daily quests, chests and boss walls. There are no promo codes in this game, so any page promising free Cores for a code is wrong.

How this tier list is built

Two rules keep this list useful rather than decorative.

First, classes are ranked by what they fix, not by how big their damage number looks. A 30-player server already has damage; what it runs out of is drill power, fuel and time. A class that adds 20% gun damage to a team of 30 changes very little. A class that adds drill power changes whether you clear the wall.

Second, the ranking is cross-checked against community tier lists from creators who have levelled these classes, and disagreements are called out rather than smoothed over. Where a class sits on evidence alone versus community consensus, we say so.

S tier — fixes the run

Class Cost Why it is here
Driller 5,000 Cores Drill power is the resource that gates every layer. Driller also discounts drill upgrades, so it compounds.
Lucky Looter 10,000 Cores The main economy buy. Chest and ore multipliers turn every descent into Cores, which is what buys the next class.
Pirate 30,000 Cores Gold bar income plus a cannon. Expensive, but it is the strongest late-game wallet and the reason 30,000 Cores is worth saving.

A tier — strong, situational

Class Cost Why it is here
Miner 100 Cores Mandatory first buy. Nothing else in the game is this cheap, and pickaxe income funds the rest.
Reaper 10,000 Cores Turns enemy kills into free healing. The Level 2 Soul Lantern clears rooms, and the class keeps scaling instead of capping.
Tank 5,000 Cores Health plus a Taunt Banner that pulls enemies off your loot classes. The pick when your team keeps wiping inside dungeon rooms.
Mechanic 5,000 Cores Fuel contribution and scrap value. Fuel is the quiet second failure mode after drill power.
Demolitionist 10,000 Cores Explosive damage, plus a Level 2 perk that gives explosive-broken walls a 50% chance to spawn ores.

B tier — fine, not first

Class Cost Why it is here
Scout 3,000 Cores Speed and sack utility. Genuinely useful for looting, but it does not break walls.
Healer 3,000 Cores Reliable support, and Level 3 starts you with a Revive Kit. Overshadowed by Reaper once you can afford it.
Gunslinger 5,000 Cores Gun damage and headshot scaling. Damage is the least scarce resource in a 30-player server.
Bruiser 5,000 Cores Melee damage with a stagger resistance perk. Fun, but it competes with the same damage slot.
Princess 10,000 Cores Staff heals and diamond value. Community lists put it a step below Reaper.
Goblin King 30,000 Cores Goblin income and recruitment, gated behind 25 dungeons and 5,000 goblin kills. A long project.

C tier — niche

Class Cost Why it is here
Bounty Hunter 30,000 Cores The weakest class in the current build. Doubling bounty sell prices sounds strong until you learn the only guaranteed bounty buyer is at 43,000 m.

Classes we are not ranking yet

Racer, Recruit, Nightcrawler, Crafter, Gunsmith, Priest, Witch, Salvager, Prospector and Samurai all exist — each has its own unlock badge in the game — but they have not been levelled enough by the community to place honestly. Prospector (3 September 2026) and Samurai (18 September 2026) are the two newest and least tested.

We would rather leave a row blank than invent a rank. The full roster with release dates lives on the all classes page.

What to buy, in order

  1. Miner (100 Cores) — always first. Read the beginner guide before you spend anything else.
  2. Driller (5,000 Cores) — the single biggest upgrade to your clear rate.
  3. Lucky Looter (10,000 Cores) — now every run pays more, which accelerates the rest.
  4. Reaper or Tank (10,000 / 5,000 Cores) — whichever matches why your team is dying.

If you are still short on Cores, the Cores guide lists the achievements and chest tiers that pay the most, and drill upgrades is where your in-run Coins should be going meanwhile.
