What Prospector actually does

Prospector is a Tier 5 Academy class at 30,000 Cores. Like every class in the game, it hands you starter gear (Prospector Armor Set, Prospector Pickaxe) and then scales through four levels - three personal upgrades and a team bonus at the end.

The Level 1 passive is the identity: Ore and Gem Veins drop multiple times more often (max 4). Everything after that builds on the same idea rather than switching lanes.

Level 4 is the team bonus - it applies to the whole 30-player server and gates on career total depth, not on anything you do in one run.

Is Prospector worth 30,000 Cores?

At Prospector’s price point the question is never whether the class works - it is whether it fixes a problem you actually have. Tier 5 unlocks cost more than everything below them combined, so buy one when your runs are failing for the specific reason this class solves.

Where it fits in a team

The team bonus is what makes Prospector show up in multiplayer lobbies: Gems have a 5% chance to be Pristine when mined. In a 30-player server that is a bonus nobody has to spend their own Cores on, which is why team-first classes get picked even by players who main something else.
