FAQ

How much does the Demolitionist class cost?
Demolitionist costs 10,000 Cores, the same band as Reaper, Princess and Lucky Looter. Its Level 4 team bonus gates at 10,000,000 m of career total depth — the same gate Reaper uses.
What starting gear does Demolitionist give you?
An RPG, a Demolitionist Chest and a Demolitionist Helmet. The RPG is a real explosive weapon, so the class works from the first run.
What does the Demolitionist Level 2 perk do?
Walls broken by explosives have a 50% chance to spawn ores. That converts wall-breaking — something the team does constantly, every 700 m to 1 km — into an ore source, which is why it is the perk that justifies the price.
How do I unlock Demolitionist Level 2 and 3?
Level 2 requires dealing 100,000 explosive damage. Level 3 requires dealing 500,000 explosive damage. Both are cumulative, so they come from playing the class rather than from a specific task.
Does the Demolitionist discount stack with anything?
Level 3 halves the price of explosives in Settlements, and it is a personal discount rather than a team bonus — so it applies to whatever you buy for yourself. Pair it with an economy class like Mechanic to stretch your Coins further.

What Demolitionist actually does

Demolitionist costs 10,000 Cores — double the 5,000-Core combat classes — and it is the only class that turns wall-breaking into ore income.

That is the whole pitch. Every team breaks walls constantly: Little and Large Walls appear every 700 m to 1 km, and Boss Walls sit at the end of each layer. If half of those walls drop ore, you have converted the game’s most repetitive activity into a resource stream.

You start each run with an RPG, a Demolitionist Chest and a Demolitionist Helmet.

Level by level

Level Unlock What changes
1 10,000 Cores +50% Explosive Damage
2 Deal 100,000 explosive damage Walls broken by explosives have a 50% chance to spawn Ores
3 Deal 500,000 explosive damage Explosives are 50% off in Settlements
4 10,000,000 m career total depth Team bonus: +25% Explosive Damage for the whole server

The 50% ore spawn is the real upgrade

Level 1 is a flat damage bonus, and it is fine. Level 2 is what you are actually paying 10,000 Cores for.

Walls appear every 700 m to 1 km. Over a 100 km run that is well over a hundred walls, and with a 50% spawn chance you are looking at dozens of extra ore drops that a non-Demolitionist team simply never gets. Ore feeds bars, bars sell for Coins, and Coins buy the drill upgrades that break the next wall.

It also pairs neatly with Miner’s doubled ore and bar prices — a Demolitionist generating ore and a Miner selling it at double value is a stronger economy than either class alone. The Miner guide covers that side.

One detail worth knowing: Stone-mutated enemies and certain enemies can only be killed with pickaxes or explosives. The enemies guide lists exactly which ones — an explosive class is not optional in those fights.

Half-price explosives at Level 3

Level 3 makes explosives 50% off in Settlements. It is a personal discount, not a team bonus, so it applies to whatever you buy for yourself — which for a Demolitionist is a lot of explosives.

Both unlock gates are cumulative damage (100,000 then 500,000), so they come from playing the class rather than from chasing a specific task. That makes Demolitionist one of the smoother classes to level: no armor sets to assemble, no headshot skill gate, no chest counts.

Level 4 gates at 10,000,000 m of career total depth — the same gate Reaper uses, and a long-term project rather than a weekend goal.

Where Demolitionist fits

Demolitionist is an economy class wearing a combat class’s clothes. It ranks in the A tier on our best classes tier list because it produces ore while doing something the team was going to do anyway.

It is a good second or third purchase rather than a first one — at 10,000 Cores it costs twice what Driller does, and Driller fixes a more urgent problem. Once your team can break walls reliably, Demolitionist turns those walls into income.

For the run where wall frequency and ore generation matter most, see how to reach 100 KM. And if you are saving the 10,000 Cores, how to get Cores lists the fastest sources.
