FAQ

How much does the Recruit class cost in Drill to Earth's Core?
Recruit costs 100 Cores (Tier 1 in the Academy). The four Tier 5 classes - Recruit among them - sit at the top of the price ladder, so treat the unlock as a savings project rather than an impulse buy.
What does Recruit start with?
Recruit starts with Rusty Sword. Starter gear alone does not decide a class - the four level passives below it do - but it does mean you can use the class the moment you buy it.
What is the Recruit Level 3 passive?
Scrap sells for +25% Coins. Level 3 is the last personal upgrade; Level 4 turns the class into a team asset.
What is the Recruit team bonus?
+10% Melee and Gun Damage. Level 4 is the team bonus - it applies to the whole 30-player server and gates on career total depth, not on anything you do in one run.

What Recruit actually does

Recruit is a Tier 1 Academy class at 100 Cores. Like every class in the game, it hands you starter gear (Rusty Sword) and then scales through four levels - three personal upgrades and a team bonus at the end.

The Level 1 passive is the identity: +20% Melee and Gun Damage. Everything after that builds on the same idea rather than switching lanes.

Level by level

Level Unlock What changes
1 100 Cores +20% Melee and Gun Damage
2 Class level requirement +20% HP
3 Class level requirement Scrap sells for +25% Coins
4 Career total depth gate +10% Melee and Gun Damage (team bonus)

Level 4 is the team bonus - it applies to the whole 30-player server and gates on career total depth, not on anything you do in one run.

Is Recruit worth 100 Cores?

Recruit is the cheapest possible entry point. If you are deciding what to buy first, this is a low-commitment way to test a playstyle before saving for the expensive tiers.

Where it fits in a team

The team bonus is what makes Recruit show up in multiplayer lobbies: +10% Melee and Gun Damage. In a 30-player server that is a bonus nobody has to spend their own Cores on, which is why team-first classes get picked even by players who main something else.

If you are choosing your first class, the beginner guide covers the opening purchases in order.

If you have not settled your first purchases yet, the all classes page has every Core price, and the best classes tier list explains where Recruit lands against the rest of the roster.
